Howard P. Tatz is a partner at Raich Ende Malter & Co. LLP.  He joined the firm in 1983 and was named partner in 1997.  Howard specializes in large privately held companies in the food distribution, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, and service industries. He also has extensive experience in the areas of franchising and Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs).   Howard began his career working for a regional accounting firm serving New York City’s garment center then moved onto working with clients in the transportation industry. For over 30 years, Howard has advised clients on matters such as franchising and succession planning.  Howard is licensed to practice in both New York and New Jersey.

Howard is a frequent lecturer and contributor to articles on topics such as current accounting and audit principles and trends within the distribution, wholesale and franchise industry.  He was recently quoted in “The Real Cost of Franchising Your Business” (All Business.com, July 28, 2011).  Howard was also quoted in the book “So You Want to Franchise?” (Entrepreneur Press, 2008).

Professional Affiliations
Howard is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.   He is a past treasurer of the Plainview Jewish Center and is a volunteer for other charitable organizations, including Taste of Tribeca, a not-for-profit organization which raises money for Tribeca’s PS 150 and PS 234.

Howard received his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the School of Management at SUNY Binghamton.
