The Ende Collection preserves and documents the history of the business machine. Dating from the 1880s to the 1950s, the collection consists of over one hundred vintage typewriters, adding machines, check writers, cash registers, and mimeograph machines. It is a unique collection, and the only one of its kind in the New York metropolitan area.
The collection is a passion of Ellis Ende, managing partner of Raich Ende Malter & Co. LLP, who has been collecting for years. While Ende has always been intrigued by new technology, something about these older machines speaks to him deeply. It is his hope that others will see his collection and find new respect for the extreme practicality, durability, and enduring beauty of business machines that are designed to last for lifetimes.
Pieces from the Ende Collection are not for sale. Work is currently in progress on a complete digital catalogue of Ende Collection holdings. The Collection can be viewed by appointment at the Long Island offices of Raich Ende Malter & Co. LLP.
